Description

The HCDAR-8x series is a special millimeter-wave level measuring instrument using Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology. It operates at 76-81 GHz, outputs a two-wire (4-20) mA signal, has a maximum measuring range of 20 meters, and a blind zone as small as 8 centimeters. With a small antenna beam angle of approximately 3°, its superior performance ensures accurate measurement of liquids, solids, and dusty materials. The HCDAR-8x series emits a microwave signal whose frequency varies linearly with time. The signal reflected from the material is mixed with the emitted signal by a mixer. The difference frequency between the two signals is proportional to the distance from the radar to the reflecting surface. The desired distance information is obtained through FFT transformation.
