Description
Honed SRB (turned and roll-finished) tubing, traditionally designated as grade 304 (and its low-carbon variant 304L), is also available in the more corrosion-resistant 316 series (316, 316L, 316Ti). All grades feature the precision bore surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.4 μm) and tight tolerances (H8–H9) required for hydraulic cylinders, but the 316 variant has added molybdenum for enhanced resistance to chloride and marine environments. An updated composition and mechanical property table is provided below, which retains the 304/304L grades and includes the three 316 series grades, along with adjusted properties, standards, and applications.
